Real Men Stand Up Program

Real Men Stand Up is a mentoring and leadership program geared toward young men in the community to challenge and change their mindsets to become leaders of tomorrow. Our mission is to encourage, empower, and enlighten our community's young boys. 

Programs are lead by a community of dedicated menwho can guide and support young, often fatherless boys on their journey to manhood. 

We have a proven approach to producing real change within young men, and we couldn't be more excited to lead the charge in a much overdue movement. The circumstances and daily environment that many of our nation's youth experience is heart-breaking. Despite this reality, Real Men Stand Up can't help but remain passionate and optimistic, for we have found a real answer that produces real change. 

Program elements include weekly in-school and open community meetings, weekend trips, an annual 24-hour experiential mentoring, and ongoing training and support for carefully selected and screened mentors. Every week and/or if needed daily, our mentees will show up at our youth gathering location and provide the following services (but not limited):

• A community of mentors and role model who listen, encourage, and empower them.
• A community of men who model integrity, accountability, compassion, and respect.
• A community where boys are empowered to speak their truth and encourage to take responsibility for their choices.
• A community where boys feel supported, listened to, and valued.
• A community where boys see their peers are facing similar challenges. and they are NOT ALONE in their struggles.

Our meetings combined leadership opportunities, peer, mentoring and self-esteem building exercises. All meetings are facilitated by one or more Real Men staff members and supported by volunteer mentors. The group meetings range in size from 12 to 20 boys with an average ratio of 4 boys to 1 Real Men mentor.
